The Federal Government will urgently review assistance for the automotive industry after Mitsubishi dealt a blow to local manufacturing by announcing the closure of its Adelaide assembly plant yesterday.

Mitsubishi's Tokyo head office brought an end to 27 years of making cars in Australia after sluggish sales of the new locally-built 380 sedan saw production in Adelaide slow to a virtual crawl of just 35 vehicles a day.
