A Clever Evolution of the BYD Dolphin

Originally launched in China as the BYD Seagull in April 2023, this compact EV was renamed Dolphin Surf for European markets in 2025. It keeps the same smart underpinnings—BYD’s groundbreaking e-Platform 3.0 and ultra-safe Blade Battery with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry—but gains a refreshed design and enhanced features for Western roads.


Key European upgrades include:

  • Extended body length (3,990 mm vs 3,780 mm) with wider and taller dimensions
