Introducing the MG Cyberster, an all-new electric sports car that harmoniously blends the brand’s iconic roadster heritage with groundbreaking design. Set to electrify the European market in the summer of 2024, the Cyberster will be available in two distinct trims: the Trophy and the GT. Each variant boasts unique powertrains and equipment levels, yet both feature standout elements like striking scissor-opening, Lamborghini-style doors, and a sleek, electrically operated canvas roof.
The exterior design is a bold statement of sophistication, available in a vibrant palette that includes the dynamic launch colour, Dynamic Red, alongside New English White, Camden Grey, and Cosmic Silver. For those seeking an extra touch of exclusivity, Inca Yellow is available as a premium option. Buyers can also choose between a black or red roof to perfectly complement their selected body colour. The rear is a visual feast, featuring a full-width LED light bar and distinctive arrow-shaped tail lights.
Inside, the Cyberster offers a tech-forward cabin inspired by gaming culture, crafted by the central SAIC design team in Shanghai. The interior is dominated by a wraparound three-screen layout, including a 10.25-inch driver’s display and two seven-inch displays. The dual-zone climate system, controlled by a screen mounted on the centre console, ensures comfort throughout the ride. Standard features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, ambient lighting, a 360-degree parking camera, and twin USB ports, enhancing both convenience and entertainment. The faux leather seats, available in either grey with white accents or black with red accents, add a sleek and customisable aesthetic.
The Cyberster is designed with the driver at its core, ensuring all controls are intuitively placed for maximum convenience. It features the advanced ‘MG Pilot’ safety system, offering a comprehensive array of high-tech features such as lane change and lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, traffic jam assist, intelligent speed assist, and adaptive headlights.
Powering the Cyberster is a fully electric platform with a sizable battery pack housed beneath the cabin floor. The single-motor variant offers rear-wheel drive with 250 kW of power, accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 5.0 seconds and reaching a top speed of 121 mph with a range of 316 miles (combined WLTP). The dual motor variant provides four-wheel drive with 375 kW of power, sprinting from 0-62 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 125 mph and a range of 276 miles (combined WLTP).
